In this post, I'll explain everything you need to know about applying for unemployment benefits in Poland.
Unemployment Benefit will give 3 months for TRC Holders 6 months for Blue Card holders. But it doesn’t mean your legal stay or legal Job search period is extended from 1 to 3 months for TRC and 3 to 6 months for Blue card Holders.
The unemployment Benefit period and legal stay or legal Job search period are both different.
Even if a Foreigner receives The unemployment Benefit, still his legal stay or legal Job search period remains the same:
TRC holder: 1 month
Blue Card Holde: 3 months.
Unemployment benefits, or "Zas D bzro bannish" in Polish, are financial support provided by the government to individuals who have lost their jobs and are actively seeking new employment.
These benefits help cover your basic needs while you search for a new job.
To be eligible for unemployment benefits in Poland, you must meet certain criteria. You need to be officially registered as unemployed at your local labour office or "URZAD PRACY"
You must have worked and paid social insurance contributions, including the labour fund fundus prati, for at least 365 days in the last 18 months.
You must be actively looking for work and willing to take up any suitable employment the labour office offers.
Applying for unemployment benefits is straightforward. Visit your nearest "URZAD PRACY" and register as unemployed.
You will need to provide documents; make sure to check with your local office for the exact list of required documents. After registering, you may be required to attend an interview or orientation session at the labour office.
Bluecard or TRC, Your Last Company Experience Letter (should mention LWD), Passport, Education certificates with Translation Original documents, ZUS and Payslips. An original Bluecard or TRC Decision Letter is a must.
This is to assess your situation and determine how the office can assist you in finding new employment. The amount of unemployment benefits you receive depends on several factors, including your previous earnings and the region.
The standard monthly benefit ranges from approximately 1484 PLN. Along with this amount, NFZ hospital access is free. You will get a TRAM cum BUS pass with a discount price(50 PLN).
For TRC, the Holder will get three months' benefits, which may be extended as per the next interview at the Urzad office.
Blue card Holders will get initial three-month benefits. During the three-year Blue card period, a total of six months can apply for this benefit. It may be extended as per the next interview at the Urzad office.
If you find employment, start a training program, or if your circumstances change in any other way, you must report this to the "URZAD PRACY" office immediately. Even if you change your address.
